MSI has released the first details about its upcoming entry-level motherboard based on Intel’s 7-series chipset, the B75MZ-P45. The motherboard is a micro-ATX form factor board and provides out-of-the box support for Intel’s upcoming 22nm Ivy Bridge CPUs as well as the current Sandy Bridge CPUs.
The MSI R7970 Lightning graphics card that officially debuted late last week has now proven its might as it gets overclocked way beyond any HD 7970 graphics card has been. This was made possible by the card’s custom PCB design and of course the GPU reactor module that many did not pay that much attention to previously.
MSI has now officially launched its top of the line R7970 Lightning graphics card that features an Unlocked BIOS, Digital PWM Controller, and Enhanced Power Design and the company’s proprietary "GPU Reactor" power supply module which enhances the quality of current flowing to the GPU for better overclocking potential.
If you have noticed it, MSI’s R7970 Lightning graphics card had an unusual cutout on the back of its PCB and the card’s specifications mentions a feature called ‘GPU Reactor’. Well, as it turns out, the cutout was a provision for that ‘GPU Reactor’ which in turn is actually an add-on PCB that packs a battery of tantalum capacitors.
Since it’s only a month more to go before motherboard manufacturers release their own designs for Intel’s Ivy Bridge CPUs, details about certain models are already starting to surface. The latest addition to the detailed list is MSI’s own Z77A-G45 and ZH77A-G43 which are the company’s affordable LGA1155 motherboard offerings for Ivy Bridge.
At this year’s CeBIT, MSI displayed a complete lineup of its GCN-based HD 7000 graphics cards that belong to the Lightning, Twin Frzr and Hawk series and all incorporate the company’s custom coolers.
Here are the first pictures of MSI’s unreleased motherboard for both Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge CPUs with the LGA1155 socket design. The board is presumed by sources to be the Z77A-GD55, MSI’s more cost-effective offering based on Intel's Z77 "Panther Point" chipset.
The upper range of AMD’s Southern Islands GPUs based graphics cards is now complete. The next thing to look forward to is the Pitcairn and Cape Verde GPUs that will be the basis of the HD 7800 and HD 7700 graphics cards. Luckily, we don’t have to wait that long as info on the roadmap slide released by MSI shows that the cards are just around the corner.
Back at CES, people saw a very interesting display - an MSI WindPad 110W running Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Although Android is indeed optimized to run on tablets, the point if interest here is that the MSI WindPad was running on AMD’s Brazo APU which by default is not supported by Android.

MSI has made available for pre-order its Wind U180 netbook that comes with Intel’s latest Cedar Trail Atom processor, the N2800 which boast two cores that run at 1.86GHz, GMA 3650 HD graphics and a total of 1MB L2 cache. The processor is based on the new 32nm process and is able to handle up to four threads and 1080p video playback support.
MSI comes out with another 3D gaming mean machine notebook, the GT783. Powered by Intel’s quad core Core i7 processor (6MB cache, 2.00GHz) and Nvidia’s GTX 580M discrete graphics card with 2GB of GDDR5 memory, the notebook is able to handle all modern games in high-quality 3D and high resolution.
MSI has officially and proudly announced its flagship motherboard for Intel’s enthusiast grade CPUs, Sandy Bridge-E. Now Gigabyte responds by providing its own slide presentation of no more than five slides explaining the details in an attempt to make its claim for its motherboards be plausible.

In either an attempt to really educate consumers or to just plainly reveal the other’s bluff claims, MSI has released very important information that disproves Gigabyte’s claim that as many as 40 of the latter party’s motherboards are ready for the 3rd generation of the PCI-express.
