MSI has released the first details about its upcoming entry-level motherboard based on Intel’s 7-series chipset, the B75MZ-P45. The motherboard is a micro-ATX form factor board and provides out-of-the box support for Intel’s upcoming 22nm Ivy Bridge CPUs as well as the current Sandy Bridge CPUs.

In an inevitable turn of events, Intel has now leaked its own information about its upcoming Atom core, Valleyview that will power the Bay Trail SoC. The leaked was caused by Intel submitting its driver information for the upcoming Linux 3.4 kernel.

A pro overclocker by the name of Sin0822 has managed to push G.Skill’s 16GB four DIMM memory kit to DDR-3003MHz speed. This was done together with an Intel Ivy Bridge Core i7-3770K CPU and a Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H motherboard.

HP has quietly listed its upcoming notebooks based on Intel’s upcoming Ivy Bridge CPUs and AMD’s Trinity APUs. The notebooks feature mosaic designs similar to the current Pavillion series notebooks.

Another leaked document from Intel now reveals a more or less sure launch date for the Ivy Bridge processors. The slide was published by Turkish website DonanimHaber and contains not only the launch date of the Core i7 and Core i5 Ivy Bridge CPUs but also the ones for the rest of the whole Ivy Bridge lineup.

Since it’s only a month more to go before motherboard manufacturers release their own designs for Intel’s Ivy Bridge CPUs, details about certain models are already starting to surface. The latest addition to the detailed list is MSI’s own Z77A-G45 and ZH77A-G43 which are the company’s affordable LGA1155 motherboard offerings for Ivy Bridge.

Two more of Gigabyte’s motherboards based on the Intel 7-series chipset for Ivy Bridge get detailed and this time, these are not from the company’s gaming series but rather from the mainstream lineup. The two boards on the spotlight are the GA-Z77X-UD3H and GA-Z77X-UD5H with the latter being Gigabyte’s top of the line non-gaming motherboard at the moment while the former is the more budget oriented model.

It looks like it’s not only ASRock that is joining the battle on the mATX gaming front with its mATX Fatal1ty motherboard as Gigabyte has now also been spotted to be preparing its own mATX gaming motherboard dubbed as the G1.Sniper M3 and based on Intel’s 7-series chipset for Ivy Bridge.

Three of ASRock’s Z77 motherboards have now been detailed. This includes the Z77 Extreme6, the Fatal1ty Z77 Professional and Fatal1ty Professional-M motherboards that as their names suggest are all based on Intel’s 7-series of chipsets designed for the upcoming Ivy Bridge CPUs.

Intel has slipped out a flipbook containing all information about its third generation Core processors dubbed as Ivy Bridge. The flipbook PDF file contains complete model lineup and naming as well as fully detailed specifications that include base clock, turbo clock, cache size and the model of each CPU’s integrated graphics.

Although Intel’s Ivy Bridge CPUs are now facing delays due to still unknown reasons, it’s good to know that they are at least capable of good feats. In addition to being low power consuming chips and having better performance in terms of CPU and graphics, it seems Ivy Bridge is also a very good overclocker as the flagship chip, the Core i7-3770K has now been reported to have been overclocked just beyond 7GHz.

So many stories are now surrounding Intel’s Ivy Bridge CPUs. There was the initial report about some mobile chip models being delayed and now more delays seem to be on the way that concerns not only some models but the whole Ivy Bridge platform as well. It’s less than two months to go until the launch of Intel’s Ivy Bridge CPUs and more information is starting to surface the latest one being the low power Core i7-3770S CPU being up to 27% faster than its Sandy Bridge counterpart, the Core i7-2600S.

Intel is now looking to lower the prices of Ivy Bridge CPUs to compensate for the delay of its mass shipments. This is to help the transition from Sandy Bridge to Ivy Bridge without causing a price shock to its partners who are still trying to exhaust their remaining Sandy Bridge CPUs.

Just like with Sandy Bridge, Intel will also be including SSD caching to the Ivy Bridge platform and since the chip giant will be releasing new chipsets for it, it makes sense to also release a new series of SSDs specifically tailored to work with the company’s SSD caching feature.

An Expreview community member has published his benchmark results on the HD 4000 graphics found on Intel’s upcoming 22nm Ivy Bridge CPU. The CPU used was the Core i5-3570K running at 3.3GHz. It was benchmarked along with the current HD 3000 found on the Sandy Bridge Core i5-2500K and Nvidia’s GeForce GT 240 discrete graphics card.

Last week’s report about Intel delaying mass shipments of its Ivy Bridge CPUs might have been very disappointing for many especially for those who were planning on building a new rig when the chips come out. The delay will indeed happen but luckily, only dual core models will be affected.

Intel has now notified its partners about its plan to delay the mass shipments of its Ivy Bridge CPUs. The move is not because of manufacturing problems or low yields of the new CPUs but rather, to help the company’s partners exhaust their remaining Sandy Bridge CPU inventories which until now are seeing slow movement because of the overall low demand due to the weak global economy.

Intel’s Ivy Bridge CPUs are nearing the predicted April launch that is why more information about the chips is also starting to surface. On our previous reports we already detailed the Core i7 and Core i5 chips which apparently will bear similar prices with their Sandy Bridge counterpart in time of those chips’ launch.

Samsung almost became the first manufacturer to have officially put up the product page for its first Ivy Bridge powered notebook if the deed wasn’t an accident. The product page put up was for Samsung’s NP700G7C-S01US notebook – a 17.3-inch Ivy Bridge powered gaming notebook that is graciously loaded with features.

Intel’s Ivy Bridge CPUs will not arrive until early April but as early as now the successor to the upcoming chips, the Haswell CPUs have now been given a launch time frame based on the information from a leaked Intel slide published by Turkish website, DonanimHaber.

Here are the first pictures of MSI’s unreleased motherboard for both Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge CPUs with the LGA1155 socket design. The board is presumed by sources to be the Z77A-GD55, MSI’s more cost-effective offering based on Intel's Z77 "Panther Point" chipset.

During the AMD Financial Analyst Day held last Thursday, a number of executive presentations were given by the company’s top executives. Among those is AMD Senior Vice President and General Manager, Global Business Units, Lisa Su’s presentation about the performance of the upcoming Trinity ULV (Ultra Low Voltage) APUs in comparison with Intel’s offerings.

Intel at CES caught a lot of attention not because its products really stand out among the other new ones being showcased at the event but rather because of a very humiliating mistake and that is faking its own live demo of an Ivy Bridge based Ultrabook’s DirectX 11 gaming capabilities.

Acer has announced in a pre-CES event its new and upcoming products that include the Ivy Bridge based Aspire S5 Ultrabook with a Thunderbolt interface, 14 and 15-inch Timeline Ultra notebooks and next generation Iconia Tab that features a quad core processors and a Full HD 1080p display.

Intel has now been reported to have notified its partners regarding its plan to discontinue a total of 25 desktop processors this year. The plan is to pave the way for the company’s upcoming third generation of Core processors, the Ivy Bridge CPUs that is expected to arrive on April 8.

Major motherboard makers are not expected to reveal their own designs for Intel’s upcoming Ivy Bridge CPUs until next week during CES but Wibtek, a Chinese brand has just gone ahead of the rest by releasing the first pictures of its Z77 based motherboard for Ivy Bridge dubbed as the Hacker Z77.

Intel’s Ivy Bridge CPUs which are basically a die shrink of the current Sandy Bridge CPUs have now been reported to be on track for an April 8 launch with a total of 25 CPUs including 17 desktop models and 8 notebook/ultrabook models joining the initial wave.

In early Q2 of 2012, Intel’s Ivy Bridge CPUs that are a die shrink of the current Sandy Bridge CPUs will launch and apparently, although the new chips will bring up to 20 percent lower TDPs and faster clock speeds, they will be priced quite similarly to their predecessors at the time of launch.

The USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) has announced that Intel’s upcoming 7-series Panther Point chipsets and C216 Chipset Family has achieved USB 3.0 SuperSpeed certification. The chipsets are what Intel will be using for its upcoming Ivy Bridge platform that is due in early Q2 of 2012.
