The SSD market has been healthy lately especially since the dilemma of the HDD market due to last year’s Thailand flooding. Although still significantly priced higher than traditional HDDs, prices of SSDs are now dwindling down and it looks like Intel’s consumer line of SSD, the 330 series will not differ with the rest of the competition.

Gigabyte has officially announced its G1.Sniper M3 and G1.Sniper motherboards based on Intel’s Z77 Express chipset. The G1.Sniper M3 is Gigabyte’s first micro-ATX gaming motherboard offering that is looking to compete with Asus’ Rampage Gene. The G1.Sniper on the other hand is the XL-ATX counterpart that is also looking to compete with other gaming motherboards in its segment.

Intel has unveiled its own motherboards based on the Z77 chipset for the LGA1155 Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge CPUs. The lineup consists of three models: the Extreme Series DZ77GA-70K, Media Series DZ77BH-55K, and Media Series DZ77SL-50K with the first one being the high-end offering, targeting gamers and enthusiast.

MSI has released the first details about its upcoming entry-level motherboard based on Intel’s 7-series chipset, the B75MZ-P45. The motherboard is a micro-ATX form factor board and provides out-of-the box support for Intel’s upcoming 22nm Ivy Bridge CPUs as well as the current Sandy Bridge CPUs.

In an inevitable turn of events, Intel has now leaked its own information about its upcoming Atom core, Valleyview that will power the Bay Trail SoC. The leaked was caused by Intel submitting its driver information for the upcoming Linux 3.4 kernel.

Intel’s Haswell CPUs, the successor to its Ivy Bridge CPUs will indeed come with much faster graphics than its predecessors. If you remember the previous report that there will be varying graphics for Haswell, that fact remains true and the performance increase is expected to start from 20% up to double that of the current Ivy Bridge graphics.

Intel’s enthusiast grade Ivy Bridge-E CPUs will most likely not appear this year according to a recent slide that was published by ComputerBase. The slide shows what is allegedly Intel’s most recent CPU road map and details the chip giant’s plan for this year until 2013 which clearly has no sign of the Ivy Bridge-E chips.

Gigabyte has introduced two new Intel Atom Cedar Trail powered netbooks – the Q2006 and the T1006 that both feature 10.1-inch displays. Both models’ choice of processor is the Intel Atom dual core processor N2800 that runs at 1.86Ghz. The main difference between the two is that the T1006 has the ability to be transformed into a slate PC thanks to its 180^o rotatable multi-touch display.

Another leaked document from Intel now reveals a more or less sure launch date for the Ivy Bridge processors. The slide was published by Turkish website DonanimHaber and contains not only the launch date of the Core i7 and Core i5 Ivy Bridge CPUs but also the ones for the rest of the whole Ivy Bridge lineup.

ASUS also took the opportunity to showcase its 7-series based motherboards at the recent CeBIT 2012 event. The lineup includes the company’s ROG and TUF series enthusiast 7-series motherboards for Intel LGA1155 CPUs. At the same time, the company’s workstation grade dual processor motherboard for Intel Xeon CPUs, the Z9PE-D8 WS has now been made official.

ECS has announced the G24 AIO PC which features a 23.6-inch multi-touch screen display with Full HD 1080p resolution. The G24 sports an Intel Sandy Bridge processor and comes in two models- the white-themed G24 Aura and the black-themed G24 Odin.

Intel has slipped out a flipbook containing all information about its third generation Core processors dubbed as Ivy Bridge. The flipbook PDF file contains complete model lineup and naming as well as fully detailed specifications that include base clock, turbo clock, cache size and the model of each CPU’s integrated graphics.

Although Intel’s Ivy Bridge CPUs are now facing delays due to still unknown reasons, it’s good to know that they are at least capable of good feats. In addition to being low power consuming chips and having better performance in terms of CPU and graphics, it seems Ivy Bridge is also a very good overclocker as the flagship chip, the Core i7-3770K has now been reported to have been overclocked just beyond 7GHz.

There was the initial report about some mobile chip models being delayed and now more delays seem to be on the way that concerns not only some models but the whole Ivy Bridge platform as well. HP quietly updated its HP Mini 210 netbook with Intel’s latest N2600 and N2800 Atom Cedar Trail processors. The Intel Atom N2600 runs at 1.6GHz while the N2800 runs at 1.86GHz and both are available choices for the HP Mini 210.

It’s less than two months to go until the launch of Intel’s Ivy Bridge CPUs and more information is starting to surface the latest one being the low power Core i7-3770S CPU being up to 27% faster than its Sandy Bridge counterpart, the Core i7-2600S.

Intel is now looking to lower the prices of Ivy Bridge CPUs to compensate for the delay of its mass shipments. This is to help the transition from Sandy Bridge to Ivy Bridge without causing a price shock to its partners who are still trying to exhaust their remaining Sandy Bridge CPUs.

Haswell CPUs, the successor the Ivy Bridge CPUs coming this April, will pack graphics that everyone is expecting to be significantly faster than its predecessors. The question now is just how really fast they would be compared to Ivy Bridge’s graphics.

Just like with Sandy Bridge, Intel will also be including SSD caching to the Ivy Bridge platform and since the chip giant will be releasing new chipsets for it, it makes sense to also release a new series of SSDs specifically tailored to work with the company’s SSD caching feature.

Gigabyte has announced the P2532F 15.6-inch gaming notebook that comes powered by an Intel Core i7-2670QM processor with a base clock of 2.2GHz and maximum turbo boost of 3.1GHz. Last week’s report about Intel delaying mass shipments of its Ivy Bridge CPUs might have been very disappointing for many especially for those who were planning on building a new rig when the chips come out. The delay will indeed happen but luckily, only dual core models will be affected.

Intel has now notified its partners about its plan to delay the mass shipments of its Ivy Bridge CPUs. The move is not because of manufacturing problems or low yields of the new CPUs but rather, to help the company’s partners exhaust their remaining Sandy Bridge CPU inventories which until now are seeing slow movement because of the overall low demand due to the weak global economy.

Intel’s Haswell CPUs are not due until the midpoint of 2013 but as early as now details about it are starting to surface indicating the Santa Clara based chip giant is already deep into developing them. The latest bit of information we have now is about the 8-series chipset codenamed “Lynx Point” which will pair with the CPUs for the new platform.

Intel’s Ivy Bridge CPUs are nearing the predicted April launch that is why more information about the chips is also starting to surface. On our previous reports we already detailed the Core i7 and Core i5 chips which apparently will bear similar prices with their Sandy Bridge counterpart in time of those chips’ launch.

Gigabyte has announced the S1081 Slate PC that is powered by the latest dual-core Intel Atom N2800 Cedar Trail CPU running at 1.86GHz and comes with an integrated GMA 3600 graphics. The S1081 features a 10.1-inch capacitive multi-touch panel 1024x600 with LED backlight and runs Windows 7 Home Premium/Professional.

Intel’s Ivy Bridge CPUs will not arrive until early April but as early as now the successor to the upcoming chips, the Haswell CPUs have now been given a launch time frame based on the information from a leaked Intel slide published by Turkish website, DonanimHaber.

Here are the first pictures of MSI’s unreleased motherboard for both Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge CPUs with the LGA1155 socket design. The board is presumed by sources to be the Z77A-GD55, MSI’s more cost-effective offering based on Intel's Z77 "Panther Point" chipset.

After the delay late last year, Intel finally announces the availability of its 520 series solid state drives that feature the latest SATA 6Gbps interface. All 520 series SSDs are powered by an LSI SandForce Flash Storage Processor with an Intel co-defined and validated firmware release and are currently Intel’s fastest client/consumer solid-state drives to date.
