This might not be the best time to be posting rumors circulating around the web as many are using the opportunity to make jokes for the sake of the April fools idea but still, this latest bit of information about AMD’s upcoming dual GPU solution, the Radeon HD 7990 codenamed ‘New Zealand’ might just be worth posting.

Nvidia’s first Kepler GPU, the GTX 680 graphics card is now out and has really proven itself worth the wait but the green camp’s offering does not stop there as the company is now planning to release the second wave of its Kepler 600 series graphics card on May.

It seems it’s not only MSI’s R7970 Lightning graphics card that can reach 1800MHz for its core as EVGA’s recently launched GeForce GTX 680 has managed to do something similar with it reaching 1842MHz for the GPU core clock while keeping the memory offset at its default value.

Along with the announcement of its GeForce GTX 680 lineup, EVGA has now also made available for download its new overclocking software, the EVGA Precision X. This new overclocking tool now supports the latest GPU technologies particularly those found on Nvidia’s Kepler GPUs.

The MSI R7970 Lightning graphics card that officially debuted late last week has now proven its might as it gets overclocked way beyond any HD 7970 graphics card has been. This was made possible by the card’s custom PCB design and of course the GPU reactor module that many did not pay that much attention to previously.

AMD seems to be planning on keeping its monthly graphics card release scheduled in check as the company’s dual-GPU solution, the HD 7990 is now expected to be launched in April. In addition to this, it seems the monster card will make use of two Tahiti XT GPUs fully enabled with slightly decreased clock speeds.

It seems it’s not only in performance that Nvidia will win over gamers and alike but also in terms of the quality of graphics that the new Kepler GPUs can provide thanks to three new technologies – TXAA, Adaptive V-Sync and the new and improved 3D Vision Surround.

Nvidia’s first Kepler GPU is just around the corner and because of that lots of information are starting to surface. The latest comes from a third party contributor who was one of the lucky ones to have his hands on a sample of the card and another from VR-Zone’s Chinese website who is even more luckier as it had two cards to test on SLI setup.

MSI has now officially launched its top of the line R7970 Lightning graphics card that features an Unlocked BIOS, Digital PWM Controller, and Enhanced Power Design and the company’s proprietary "GPU Reactor" power supply module which enhances the quality of current flowing to the GPU for better overclocking potential.

Powercolor has added to its lineup of Cape Verde GPU based graphics cards the PCS+ HD 7770 GHz edition graphics card that makes use of the company’s Professional Cooling System plus comes with factory overclocked settings.

Sapphire has made official its HD 7970 Dual-X OC edition graphics card based on AMD’s Tahiti XT GPU. The card features Sapphire’s Dual X cooler technology which features highly efficient dual fans and multiple copper heat pipes.

AMD’s monster dual-GPU graphics card, the Radeon HD 7990 has been reported to be slated for an April release. Originally thought as an axed product, this graphics card will most likely pack two Tahiti XT GPUs that are linked together via CrossFireX.

While GeForce GTX 680 is taking the spotlight in the desktop high-end segment, Nvidia’s own Kepler offering for the mobile segment, the GT 640M mobile Kepler GPU is also starting to make its appearance as the first benchmarks of the card have already started rolling in.

While Nvidia’s first Kepler GPU, the GeForce GTX 680 is expected to launch next week, the company’s dual-GPU solution based on two GK104 chips is now said to be slated for a May release.

The pictures shows the card’s top and bottom PCB and reveals the reference design single slot cooler equipped with a single fan and the stacked 6-pin PCIe power connectors.

Back at last week’s CeBIT, there were rumors going around that Nvidia Kepler GPUs are just weeks away. This was followed by a bit of feature confirmation that puts into spotlight the GK104 GPU again plus another new technology that Nvidia will be introducing in its next generation graphics card, the ‘Dynamic Clocking’ or ‘Dynamic Clock Adjustment’ feature.

If you have noticed it, MSI’s R7970 Lightning graphics card had an unusual cutout on the back of its PCB and the card’s specifications mentions a feature called ‘GPU Reactor’. Well, as it turns out, the cutout was a provision for that ‘GPU Reactor’ which in turn is actually an add-on PCB that packs a battery of tantalum capacitors.

At this year’s CeBIT, MSI displayed a complete lineup of its GCN-based HD 7000 graphics cards that belong to the Lightning, Twin Frzr and Hawk series and all incorporate the company’s custom coolers.

AMD’s Radeon HD 7800-series graphics cards based on the Pitcairn GPU have been officially launched and the company’s AIB partners have now all showcased their own offerings with some of them sticking to the reference design while the others come customized in terms of PCB design, choice of cooler and clock settings. We now look at the available models that have been launched by the various AIB partners of AMD.

A slide presentation that is claiming to be of AMD’s was published by OBR-Hardware. The slide focuses on one product and that is a GPU codenamed ‘Tenerife’ which features an enhanced GCN (Graphics Core Next) GPU architecture and will most probably succeed the current ‘Tahiti’ GPU powering the Radeon 7900-series graphics cards from AMD.

AMD has officially launched the Radeon HD 7800 series of graphics cards that are based on the Pitcairn GPU made from the 28nm fab process of TSMC and features AMD’s GCN (Graphics Core Next) GPU architecture.

Japanese website Hermitage Akihabara has published a slide detailing AMD’s Radeon HD 7800 graphics cards based on the Pitcairn GPU. The slide contains detailed information about the Radeon HD 7870 and HD 7850 that are both expected to launch this month of March.

An Expreview community member has published his benchmark results on the HD 4000 graphics found on Intel’s upcoming 22nm Ivy Bridge CPU. The CPU used was the Core i5-3570K running at 3.3GHz. It was benchmarked along with the current HD 3000 found on the Sandy Bridge Core i5-2500K and Nvidia’s GeForce GT 240 discrete graphics card.

Nvidia’s GK104 GPU and its more powerful siblings might be the talk of the town lately but there is still Nvidia’s lower lineup that people can look out for. One such GPU belonging to the lower end of the lineup is the entry-level Kepler GPU, the GK107 that is bound to replace the GeForce GT 440.

A new report has surfaced claiming that Nvidia will finally release its first Kepler GPU in March. The GPU that will be in the spotlight is the GK104 which has really been the center of discussion lately.

Gigabyte has announced the P2532F 15.6-inch gaming notebook that comes powered by an Intel Core i7-2670QM processor with a base clock of 2.2GHz and maximum turbo boost of 3.1GHz. The powerful processor is paired with an Nvidia GT 555M discrete GPU with 2GB of video memory and support for Nvidia Optimus technology.

With AMD’s Radeon HD 7900 “Tahiti” and HD 7700 “Cape Verde” cards out on the market, it won’t be long from now until the company finally completes its Southern Island GPU lineup. The only missing piece now are the Pitcairn GPUs which will be the basis for the Radeon HD 7800 graphics cards that are expected to launch some time in March.

Nvidia again is planning to launch yet another Fermi based graphics card as If last year’s GTX 560 Ti 448 Cores wasn’t enough. The card that will now arrive as Nvidia’s last Fermi offering (hopefully) is the GTX 560 SE that is based on the GF 114 GPU.

Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang revealed in a conference that the company is experiencing declining gross margins due to several factors that includes the lower than expected yields of its 28nm Kepler GPUs which are exclusively being manufactured by TSMC.

AMD’s Radeon HD 7700 graphics cards are now official. The series is based on the Cape Verde GPU that is made using the 28nm fab process and uses the Graphics CoreNext GPU architecture. Fully enabled, it features 10 GCN compute units resulting to a total of 640 stream processors accompanied by 40 TMUs, 16 ROPs, and a 128-bit wide GGDR5 memory interface.
