Sapphire has announced its own high-end motherboard offering for AMD’s FX-series processors, the Pure Black 990FX AM3+ motherboard. A bit late compare to the others but nevertheless, Sapphire’s creation sports some great features including the Sapphire QBIOS – the company’s own designed UEFI BIOS and an 8 phase PWM design with Sapphire Diamond Chokes.
AMD’s current flagship chipset for its AM3+ processors, the 990FX is already overdue and trailing behind the competition and it seems the Sunnyvale-based company has realized that as a leaked slide presentation shows that a new chipset by the name 1090FX is set to debut sometime in 2012.
ASRock has announced that its AM3 and AM3+ motherboard lineup will provide support for the latest FX-series of Bulldozer CPUs from AMD starting from the products bearing the GeForce 7025/nForce 630a chipsets all the way up to the high-end ones using the AMD 990FX chipset.
Biostar brings to end users its latest motherboard offering based on AMD’s 990FX flagship chipset, the TA990FXE that caters to AMD’s FX, Phenom, Athlon and Sempron series of processors that have the AM3 and AM3+ socket designs.
Gigabyte have just rolled out another motherboard to its GA-990FXA lineup, the GA-990FXA-UD5. As the name suggests, Gigabyte have based this board on the latest AMD 990FX Nothbridge and SB950 Southbridge combo. The GA-990FXA-UD5 supports the AM3+ socket including the upcoming AMD Bulldozer series CPUs and is also compatible with earlier AM3 Phenom II CPUs.
It didn’t take long for leaked details of the upcoming Asus ROG Crosshair V Formula motherboard to start appearing online and it looks like AMD Bulldozer CPUs will be right at home on this board. As you can tell by the pictures the new Crosshair V Formula will sport the red/black ROG color scheme as well as all the other ROG goodies you can usually expect to find on top-end ASUS boards.
