Samsung Accidentally Slips Out its Ivy Bridge Notebook

Samsung almost became the first manufacturer to have officially put up the product page for its first Ivy Bridge powered notebook if the deed wasn’t an accident. The product page put up was for Samsung’s NP700G7C-S01US notebook – a 17.3-inch Ivy Bridge powered gaming notebook that is graciously loaded with features.

The page has now been removed from Samsung’s official site but thanks to Google’s cache, information about the Ivy Bridge notebook can still be found.

The Ivy Bridge CPU that comes with this Samsung notebook is the Core i7-3610QM quad core CPU clocked at 2.3GHz with 6MB of L3 cache. In addition, the notebook is packed with 16GB of RAM (four 4GB modules), a pair of 1TB HDD in RAID and Samsung’s ExpressCache feature that adds 8GB of onboard flash memory to allow SSD like caching solution.

Samsung also did not let up on the graphics department as the notebook sports an Nvidia GeForce GTX 675M graphics card with 2GB of GDDR5 memory. This very card is the one that is also rumored as the choice of Dell for its Alienware gaming laptops.

I/O ports include HDMI, two USB 3.0, two USB 2.0, headphone/mic combo port, VGA output and a 7-in-1 card reader while other features include a Full HD 1920x1080 resolution, Blu-ray drive, 802.11 abg/n Wireless LAN, Intel WiDi, Bluetooth 4.0 and Gigabit Ethernet.

The product page also mentions an 8-cell battery but there is no mention of how long that battery can power the notebook on its own.

Weighing at 8.39 lbs., Samsung’s NP700G7C-S01US is not exactly the more portable type. It is also not the most affordable as Samsung has priced this particular model at $1,699.99. But given the features, it’s looking reasonable at that price point.
