New Industrial Grade Memory Cards from Apacer
The trend nowadays is portability and it is increasingly being adapted in almost everything and everywhere that the demand for more reliable components, such as memory cards, that can match the performance of the new portable devices, has also seen much growth.
Apacer answers with the announcement of its new storage solutions reliably designed for high storage and extended temperatures (-40ºC to 85ºC). It enables the new cards to be widely applicable to industrial, military, communication, surveillance, medical devices and car navigation, thereby satisfying the storage need of demanding industrial enterprises.
These new SD cards come as a SLC (single-level cell) or MLC (multi-level cell) NAND Flash memory chips with the former being available from 256MB up to 8GB capacities featuring read and write speeds of 20MB/s and 13MB/s respectively.
The MLC comes in 4GB-32GB capacities with a slower 19MB/s and 8MB/s read and write speed. Both are compliant with Ver. 2.0 and SDHC Class 10 high-speed transmission standards as defined by the SD Association. They also feature support for 24-bit ECC and integrated Global Wear leveling and S.M.A.R.T technology for prolonged lifespan and safer data storage.
Although announced, pricing for these new SD cards were not made available.
