Details leaked for Asus Crosshair V Formula Motherboard

It didn’t take long for leaked details of the upcoming Asus ROG Crosshair V Formula motherboard to start appearing online and it looks like AMD Bulldozer CPUs will be right at home on this board. As you can tell by the pictures the new Crosshair V Formula will sport the red/black ROG color scheme as well as all the other ROG goodies you can usually expect to find on top-end ASUS boards.

The Crosshair V Formula is based on AMD’s upcoming 990FX chipset matched with the SB950 Southbridge and will feature full support for AMD AM3+ CPUs. The ROG Crosshair V Formula board will also feature four DDR3 memory slots, a total of seven SATA 6Gbps and one eSATA port, four PCI-Express x16 slots with support for both Nvidia's SLI and AMD CrossfireX, Gigabit Ethernet, onboard 7.1-channel audio, six USB 3.0 ports (two via header) a bunch of USB 2.0 ports and a 10-phase VRM.

It’s also interesting to note that the new Crosshair V Formula motherboard will available in two different versions with the only notable difference being the inclusion of the Thunderbolt Add-on card that brings Xonar audio and Bigfoot Networks Killer NIC to the mix. Like previous ASUS ROG boards it will feature on board power, reset and clear CMOS buttons, ROG Connect, voltage measure points as well as all the usual ROG goodies.
